As a child, Jovy Merryl was not the one you see with paints and brushes, but rather, outdoors playing volleyball. She always have a burning passion and drive to pursue her dream to run a restaurant business as soon as she finished her studies.
She juggled working in Singapore and running her restaurant business in Philippines at the same time, that paved way to her creative journey. Friends and colleagues noticed her knack in learning latte art and encouraged her to take up calligraphy and watercolour. She listened, picked up her first watercolour and discovered her talent which bloomed over the years.
Being in a busy and demanding food industry, it has given her the drive to express herself more in her paintings, and later on, reach out to people, help, inspire and teach them the wonders of this medium. Her passion for travel added to her inspiration to paint more landscapes and bodies of water, to express and tell her story in every piece she creates.
She believe that art can always be learned, no matter what stage you are in life and she hopes that her artworks can connect her to more people and somehow give them a chance to let art change their lives too.
